It feels good to be of close relations with former NBA star Lafayette Lever. He ended up getting the nickname fat from his brother who couldn't pronounce his full name so he called him "Fat Lever" instead. I remember living in Arkansas hearing nothing but family members talking about his success in the NBA. I can recall all of my uncles always attending games and picking up jerseys, shoes, and auto graphs from other players out of the Nuggets locker room. I really didn't pay all of the commotion any attention. I felt as if it wasn't jordan I really didn't care. Growing up Michael Jordan was every kids hero kind of like how Lebron James is every kids hero currently. I remember being a spoiled kid and my dad buying me every jordan shoe that made it to kids footlocker. I remember he'd always say " you do good in school and i'll buy you whatever you want". As a kid everything I possibly wanted was simply Jordan Brand shoes, video games, mini motor bikes, and 20$ in cash to buy all the candy I could eat and thats exactly what I got as a kid. I remember saying the day that "Fat" puts up jordan numbers then he'd be my hero. I remember watching ESPN one day with my friends and they compared "Fat" to Jason Kidd as an all time triple double champion in the history of the NBA. From that moment on I decided to actually pay attention to him as a NBA player and when I did I found out he was not only a NBA star, but also an NBA All Star, and he played along side of one of Denvers best offensive weapons Alex English who also assisted in making the Denver Nuggets a foce in the Eastern Conference. What put the icing on the cake on my cousin "Fat" was when he nearly had a Quadrouple Double against the Chicago Bulls and "Fat" matched up against Jordan scoring 31 Points, 12 assists, 16 rebounds, and 6 steals, not bad for a 6 foot 3 inches guard I'd say.

As of now "Fat" is residing in Phonix and is working with the Sacremento Kings. Maybe it was about a couple weeks ago my mom was on the phone with "Fat". After she hung up the phone she was excited to say that we were visiting him this spring and that he was going to assist with her beauty supply company.  I couldn't believe she didn't allow me to speak to him so I was kind of upset, but she simply gave me his number. I told myself I was going to build up courage to speak to him face to face. So  I finally called, but it wasn't Fat that answered, but his brother and also my cousin Anthony. I talked to him for about 15 minutes and told him about how excited I would be to meet Tyreke Evans who is the starting point guard for Sacremento. He chuckled a bit and replied "alright cuz" in a southern accent and we concluded our conversation and said our goodbye's. All I can say is, I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL APRIL!.
